Refunds and cancellations

This page applies to commissions, numbered drop pairs, splash pages, extra archival sheets, and reading-room visits. We do not sell subscriptions, merchandise racks, or download-only files without paper, so those models are not covered.

Eligibility

A deposit is refundable in full if we have not started thumbnails. Once thumbnails are delivered, the deposit is kept against time already spent. The balance is not taken until you sign the print proof; if you walk away before signature, you are not charged the balance, and unused likeness photographs are returned or deleted on request.

Timeframe

Ask within fourteen days of a drop sheet arriving if the packet is damaged or the number on the colophon does not match the token. Commission complaints about likeness should be made at proof stage; after signature we treat the sheet as accepted, except for mill defects.

Full or partial refunds

Full refund of a drop pair if the sheet is lost in the post and no printers’ proof remains to replace it. Partial refund (the sheet line only) if the token minted correctly but the paper is defective and you prefer not to wait for a reprint. Visit fees are refunded in full if we cancel. Visit fees are not refunded for a no-show; they remain deductible if you later book a commission within six weeks of a visit you did attend.

Non-refundable items

Time already spent on pencils after you approved thumbnails. Extra sheets you asked us to mill after signature. Metallic colophon ink once mixed.

Process

Write to hello@cloudcontrolbase.click with the issue title, number, and what went wrong. Photograph a damaged packet before you discard it. We answer within five working days.

Processing time and method

Approved refunds travel back by the same bank transfer or card route you used, within ten working days of our agreement. We do not refund in tokens or in extra numbers.

Cancellation and rescheduling

You may reschedule a reading-room visit once without charge if you give forty-eight hours’ notice. Later changes or no-shows forfeit the visit fee. Commission slots may be moved once if pencils have not started; after pencils start, a move is a new quote.

Deposits

Thirty percent on accepted commissions. Returned in full if we decline after further thought, or if we cannot complete because of studio illness and you do not wish to wait.

Work already started and materials

Somerset ordered for your edition is charged if we cannot return it unused. Pencils remain ours; we will not hand over unfinished pages as a consolation.
